Privacy Policy
This page describes what information Novel Gene collects through its website, how that information is used, and the choices available to visitors. It is written to be plain and reviewable; it is not a substitute for counsel.

02 — Information we collect
Only what we need to reply and to scope a partnership.
Novel Geneoperates a single, low-friction contact surface — a partnership-inquiry form — plus this website. We do not run third-party advertising or marketing trackers anywhere on the site.
Email address
Collected from the inquiry form so the team can reply. Used solely to respond to the inquiry; we do not subscribe visitors to a general newsletter or sell or share the address.
Organization
Collected to assess fit and the rough shape of a partnership before a first call. Used for inbound triage only; not used to build a public profile or shared directory.
Use case / message
A free-text summary of the project, assay cadence, or program context. Used to prepare a relevant reply and to scope the next conversation. Never used for marketing automation or ranking.
Cookies & local storage
This site stores a small amount of state in the browser to make the experience consistent between visits. Specifically, the theme preference (light vs. dark) is stored by the ThemeProvider. We do not deploy any third-party advertising, retargeting, or analytics cookies, and no third-party scripts read state set by this site.
03 — Use of information
Reply, triage, and nothing else.
Information submitted through the inquiry form is used to (a) reply to the inquiry and (b) decide whether the project fits the platform — for example, assay type, scale, and timing. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing, and it is not combined with data from any other site.
If a partnership progresses, additional terms (governing confidentiality, intellectual property, and onward data handling) are set out in a separate written agreement. This page does not describe those terms — it only describes what happens before any agreement is signed.
04 — Storage & cookies
Browser-side state, kept minimal.
The site stores one narrow value in the browser, which is anonymous and never associated with the inquiry form submission:
Theme preference
Records whether the visitor chose light or dark mode, so the choice persists across pages and sessions. Managed by ThemeProvider.
Disabling cookies or clearing site data in the browser will reset these values. We do not use cookies to serve advertising, and we do not run scripts from external analytics providers.
05 — Third-party processors
A small, named set of processors — nothing is sold or shared.
To run this site, Novel Gene may use hosting and authentication provided by the app platform. Inquiry notes are stored in this application. This site does not send outbound email, process payments, or share visitor data for marketing.
App host / auth
May store accounts and sessions if someone signs in.
Sign-in is optional. Credentials are for this app. They are not an invitation to email third parties.
Inquiry database
Stores internal notes submitted on this site.
The note form writes to the application database. This site does not forward notes by email.
Payments
Not offered on this site.
Novel Gene does not process cards or run paid engagements from this website.
06 — Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, and the right to walk away.
Anyone who has submitted information through this site — an inquiry, a sign-in, or any other form input — can ask Novel Gene to do the following, and the team will honor the request within a reasonable timeframe:
Access
Receive a copy of what Novel Gene holds that was provided by, or attributed to, the requester.
Correction
Update or correct any information on file — for example, a new work email or a revised organization name.
Deletion
Erase the inquiry and any associated account record. Deletion is final and removes the thread from the team’s queue.
Withdraw
Stop further engagement at any time — no follow-up, no retention of the previous thread beyond what legal or operational recordkeeping requires.
To exercise any of these rights, record an internal note on this site. No outbound email address is published until a human authorizes a contact channel.
07 — Retention
Kept only as long as the conversation needs it.
Inquiry responses are retained for a defined operational window — long enough to triage, follow up, and continue the partnership if it develops — and then deleted on a rolling 24-month schedule. The browser-stored theme preference and visitor beacon persist until the visitor clears site data or the storage expires.
08 — Changes to this policy
This page is updated as the practice changes.
If the way information is collected, used, or retained changes — for instance, if a new field is added to the inquiry form — this page is updated, the “last updated” date at the top is refreshed, and the previous version is kept available on request.
